One things for certain, fashion trends are on a revolving table which come around and around. In the 1960's there was inspiration from 1920's fashion, in the 1970's there was a popularity of 1930's styles and the 1980's saw the 1940's styles re-surging. In the present day the cycle seems to be going faster than ever making it almost impossible to keep up! For example Prada's S/S 2012 collection was inspired by 1950's classic prints and full skirts, whilst Ralph Lauren took inspiration from the 1920's with drop waists and jewelled dresses and Louis Vuitton was inspired by 1960's Mia Farrow for the S/S 2012 collection.

It's probably safe to say though, that if you buy vintage clothing from a variety of decades, there is no chance you will ever be out of fashion!
